Maileg Sizes Explained: My, Micro, Mouse & Miniature

If you are new to Maileg, the size names can be one of the most confusing parts of choosing a character or piece of furniture. What is the difference between My, Micro, Mouse and Miniature—and can they be used together?

The simple answer is that these words describe different parts of the Maileg world. Some refer to the size of a character, while others help identify the furniture or house designed for that character.

What Does “My” Mean in Maileg?

My is the smallest size Maileg offers. It is used for the tiniest bunnies and rabbits, as well as small nursery furniture and accessories such as cradles, high chairs and playpens.

Baby Mice also pair beautifully with My-sized furniture. A My cradle or high chair creates a naturally tiny nursery scene, although Baby Mice can also use regular Mouse-sized furniture with the rest of their family.

What Is Micro Size?

Micro is generally larger than My, although the exact height can vary by character and design.You will most often see this size among Maileg bunnies and rabbits, clothing and small furniture.

Micro friends can live inside the House of Miniature, but their clothing should still match the Micro size. A piece of furniture may work creatively with several characters, while clothing is much less flexible.

What Does “Mouse” Size Mean?

Mouse furniture is designed for Maileg’s classic mouse family. This includes Baby Mice, Little Brothers and Sisters, Big Brothers and Sisters, and parent and grandparent mice.

All of these family members can share the Mouse Hole Farmhouse, castles and Mouse-sized furniture. The proportions will look different—a bed may feel roomy for a Little Sister and snug for a Mum Mouse—but they still belong to the same Mouse world.

This is why the family role printed on a mouse is especially important when choosing clothes, but less restrictive when choosing furniture.

What Does “Miniature” Mean?

Miniature is the main furniture scale for the House of Miniature. It pairs especially well with Size 1 and Size 2 bunnies and rabbits, along with Mum, Dad and Junior from the Teddy Family.

My and Micro characters can also live in the House of Miniature, but their own smaller furniture often creates a more natural visual scale.

Miniature does not automatically mean “suitable for every small Maileg character.” It is always helpful to check the product measurements and the character named in the description before ordering.

The Easiest Rule to Remember

● My: Maileg’s smallest size; also lovely for Baby Mice

● Micro: small bunnies, rabbits, clothing and coordinating furniture

● Mouse: furniture and houses for the classic mouse family

● Miniature: furniture for the House of Miniature, especially Size 1–2 bunnies and rabbits and the Teddy Family

Furniture can sometimes be shared across the Maileg world, especially when the proportions look right to you. Clothing should be matched much more carefully to the exact character size.

The best rule is simple: check the character name for clothing, check the furniture label and measurements for rooms, and choose the combination that makes your child’s stories come alive.
